MEMBERSHIPS

Recovering persons throughout the Pittsburgh area, along with those from other cities are invited to utilize the Facility. There are no qualifications for membership other than the desire to find recovery. Current membership represents men and women of all ages and occupations. The average membership lasts three to four years, and continued membership supports Onala's mission and assures our continued existence. New members join to help themselves during that critical time when a Recovering Person is trying to resume a normal pattern of living. Onala helps those who are trying to rebuild their lives.

Dues are $10.00 a month, and members are encouraged to participate as individuals or help run the facility by becoming officers. Except for major capital programs, the facility is self-sustaining and run, day-by-day, by a permanent manager and officers, who determine policy, organize activities and manage the operation. A separate non-profit organization, Onala, Inc. owns the facility and its Board of Directors oversees the successful operation of Onala Recovery Center, Inc. Many members also belong to Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous and every effort is made to abide carefully by the traditions of the fellowship.
