Recovering persons throughout the Pittsburgh area, along with those from other cities are invited to utilize the Club. There are no qualifications for membership other than the desire to find recovery. Current membership represents men and women of all ages and occupations. The average membership lasts three to four years, and members drop out when they feel they have successfully adjusted to their new life-styles. New members join to help themselves during that critical time when a Recovering Person is trying to resume a normal pattern of living. The Club helps those who are trying to rebuild their lives.

Dues are $10.00 a month, and members are encouraged to participate as individuals or help run the Club by becoming officers. Except for major capitol programs, the Club is self-sustaining and run, day-by-day, by a permanent Club Manager and elected officers, who determine policy, organize activities and manage the operation. A separate non-profit organization, Onala, Inc. owns the facility and its Board of Directors oversees the successful operation of the Club. Many Club members also belong to Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous and every effort is made to abide carefully by the traditions of the fellowship.
